Site preparation and acreage grading in East Texas

Before the slab

Building a home out in the country starts with dirt work. Before the slab, before the framing, before anybody picks a paint color, somebody has to clear the lot, get the drainage right, and get the ground ready.

Get that part wrong and you'll be fighting it as long as you own the place. Water standing where it shouldn't. A driveway that turns to mud every time it rains.

When we clear a homesite, we ask what's going where. The house, the drive, the shop, maybe a pond someday. Then we work the ground for that plan, not just to make it bare.

Half an acre or several. If you're planning to build out here, call before the builder shows up.

Putting ground back together

If you own land in East Texas, you already know about hogs. They can tear up a pasture fast. Ruts, holes, bare dirt where grass used to be. And it doesn't fix itself.

Leveling it out. Getting a seedbed ready. Planting grass. Fixing the spots where hogs, traffic or a bad job left it rough.

Nobody takes pictures of a pasture that's just flat and green again. But flat and green is the whole point.

Fix the cause, not the surface

A road that washes out every time it rains. A field left rough after somebody bid it cheap and left. Most of the time the real problem is underneath. The water has nowhere to go. The ground was never prepared.

Fix it once. Fix it right.

Questions people ask

Do you do excavation?

Yes. Dozer, trackhoe and excavation work for overgrown acreage, site preparation and land improvement.

When should I call about a homesite?

Before the builder shows up. It's a lot easier to plan it right than fix it later.

When is a good time to repair torn up pasture?

Fall is a good time to level it out and get grass going again.
